My Approach

My approach focuses on using nutrition to maximise health, vitality,

and resilience across the lifespan. I enjoy helping make nutrition

feel simpler and less overwhelming, cutting through confusion so people can feel more confident around food. I take a caring, empathetic approach, spending time understanding each person’s individual situation and what will realistically work for them. Originally from Christchurch and now based in Dunedin with my family, I love getting outdoors and enjoy running when I can. My own journey and relationship with food have shaped the way I practise, and I’m passionate about sharing nutrition knowledge in a way that helps people enjoy food while supporting their health.

Clients

I help clients to optimise their nutrition across a range of life stages and goals. This includes:

  • general health and wellbeing

  • improving relationships with food

  • disordered eating

  • managing gut issues

  • healthy ageing

New Grads

Starting out as a nutritionist can feel both exciting and overwhelming! You’re finally putting years of theory into real-world practice, often without a clear direction. It’s completely normal to feel unsure, question your decisions, or wonder if you’re doing things “right.”

Having worked at the University of Otago for a number of years, I have a strong understanding of the challenges new graduates face as they transition from study into practice. My mentoring and supervision services are designed to support you through this phase, helping you build confidence, develop clinical and professional skills, and find your own way of working, while knowing you’re not doing it alone. Email me if you're interested in finding out more!

Vision

My vision is to make food and nutrition simple and empower clients to live a healthy life without strict food rules. I believe nutrition should enhance life, not complicate it, and that meaningful change happens when individuals feel understood, respected, and guided in ways that fit their real lives.

I aim to simplify nutrition science, reduce confusion, and create a calm, compassionate space where people can build a positive, sustainable relationship with food and health.

At the same time, Purple Carrot is committed to nurturing the next generation of nutrition professionals, offering encouragement, mentorship, and practical support to new graduate nutritionists as they grow in confidence, skill, and professional identity.

Through care, collaboration, and curiosity, I strive to create a community where both clients and clinicians feel supported to learn, evolve, and thrive.
